The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Chose the Wrong Popular RPG Show Song

This latest animated series, the newest animated adventure from the beloved role-playing group, revealed a new introductory sequence. It features the beloved cast of misfits, outcasts, and criminals kicking ass and taking names, while teasing at several agonizing backstories for key figures including the voice actor's mage Caleb, and another actor's warlock orc, the character Fjord.

Overall, the opening appears amazing. But I couldn't help feeling that an element was missing in the song choice.

The intro employs "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar song created by producer and singer Colm McGuinness. It's a track originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release released by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great nostalgic choice, and I believe that fans of the sequel series will appreciate its inclusion.

Personally, The Mighty Nein's intro fails to capture the hype and energy that was part of the second campaign's actual-play adventure. "It's Your Turn", written by musician the artist, became an immediate hit in my view when it was initially unveiled in that year, and it only got better when co-founder the performer added lyrics to the tune for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Featuring vocals from one actress, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as the writer, the song was memorable and enjoyable. At the time, I hadn't even watched the second campaign yet, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my device. This track that excites you before you start an episode of fantasy hijinks.

The show's intro with "the new song" doesn't strike the same chords in my opinion. It's an impressive piece of music, but from what I know of this party, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Naturally, the creators has stated that the animated show will have a few changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as among these.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on the streaming service from November 19. For those eager until then, or wish to prepare to learn about the characters of the second series, the actual play are accessible on Spotify and YouTube.
