Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Finn, who featured in popular programs like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.
"Pat Finn never met a stranger - only friends he didn't know yet," his loved ones shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind noted there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he shared publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
