Loyal fans of the pop star are calling for that a person who breached a barrier and grabbed the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or removed from Singapore.

A viral video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen pushing past media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the actors proceeded down a promenade surrounded by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being detained", though court documents indicated that he was set to attend court on the next day. It is uncertain if he was charged.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains videos of him disrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney show in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last year.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is clearly a legal violation," stated an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user wrote.

Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Past Trauma

Many supporters accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said another response on Instagram.

Several attendees also questioned event staff at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while others demanded social media platforms to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In footage circulating online, Grande appeared surprised when she was grabbed by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not commented on the incident, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Many of fans had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had waited for as long as eight hours before it started.

The movie, to be released on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-film interpretation of the popular theatrical show Wicked, which centers on the unlikely relationship between two contrasting witches.

The production itself is a adaptation of the 1900 book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a light pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the most successful movie of last year in the UK, and earned a dozen award recognitions, winning several for best costume and set decoration.
