Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Legal authorities have announced that a former doctor stands accused of committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A senior CPS official commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
Prosecutors said the 45 charges he is charged with:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
